Should I buy a residential model or commercial model?Residential pressure washers are made for occasional use, typically less than 2 hours per week or 100 hours per year. They are less expensive than commercial models because they are made from lower grade parts that wear more quickly. Most homeowner projects can be completed with a residential model, but shop for one that does not have plastic parts (ie. plastic pumps heads, plastic hoses, plastic valves, etc.) and check to see if replacement parts are available and affordable. Commercial pressure washers are made with higher quality parts so they can handle daily use (more than 100 hours per year). They usually have higher PSI ratings to handle larger cleaning projects.
