Q: How do I know that Karcher is a good brand?

A: Karcher has been building pressure washers since 1935 and are currently the LARGEST manufacturer of pressure washers in the world, by a wide margin. In fact, in 2004 they bought out 2 of their largest U.S. competitors (Hotsy and Landa), which greatly increased their presence and manufacturing capabilities here in the U.S. They were started in Germany by Alfred Karcher and now have manufacturing facilities in Brazil, the U.S., Italy and several in Germany. They have over 100 engineers that do nothing but try to make their products better. There is NO OTHER COMPANY that even comes close to the money Karcher spends on R & D each year. In fact, many of the so called "manufacturers" are nothing more than assemblers. They buy their pumps from one source, their motors from another, their burners from another (in the case of hot water machines), etc. Karcher is one of the only TRUE MANUFACTURERS of pressure washers in the United States. They have dozens of patents on their products which no other company can boast!

Q: How do I Clean the Siding on My Home?

A: Simply purchase a gallon or two of our "8-Ball" all purpose cleaner and place your pressure washer's chemical pick-up tube directly into the jug. Place safety glasses on. Now take your machine to low pressure (the method to do this will vary by model, but usually you will snap in the black soaping nozzle, if you have quick-connect nozzles or twist the end of the wand if you have a "vario" style nozzle), then point the wand away from the house until the soap starts coming out. DO NOT WET THE HOUSE FIRST as this creates a barrier so that the soap cannot get at the dirt and environmental film! Then apply the soap from the bottom to the top, let it set for 30 seconds or so and then switch your machine to high pressure and begin rinsing. Rinse from the top to the bottom getting about 4-6 inches away from the surface. **Always test in an inconspicuous area to make sure that you are not harming the siding at this distance. Never let the chemical dry in the sun and try to avoid getting the soap on the windows as it may leave spots. Make sure to rinse the area thoroughly. Never soap more than you can rinse before it dries. This means about a 10'-20' wide area at a time maximum. After rinsing this section, move down to the next section and begin soaping. Repeat this process around the rest of the home's perimeter.

Q: How do I Protect My Pressure Washer From Freezing in the Winter?

A: Purchase a can of "Pump Guard" from us and simply inject it into the pump as per the directions on the can. If you have a gasoline powered machine, make sure to either drain the gas out completely, or pour in a product such as "Sta-Bil" into the gas tank. Be sure to then start the machine and run it for about 5 minutes to get the product into the carburetor.

Q: My K-2400 suddenly has low or no pressure. What's the problem?

A: Your unloader valve "O" rings need lubricating. See the Helpful Hints section for instructions.
